Privacy Policy

Last updated: 19 June 2026

Klardrop is a peer-to-peer file-sharing app. It is built to keep your data on your own devices — the short version is below, with the details after.

The short version

What we transfer, and where it goes

When you send a file, text, or image to another device, Klardrop opens a direct network connection to that device on your local network and streams the data to it. The transfer is device-to-device. We do not host, relay, intercept, log, or store the content you share.

Device permissions

The app asks for these permissions only to do its job. The data they expose stays on your device; we do not collect it.

Crash & diagnostic reporting

To detect and fix crashes and errors, Klardrop uses Bugsnag (a service by SmartBear). When the app crashes or hits an error, it sends technical diagnostic information such as the error type and stack trace, app version, device model, and operating-system version. These reports are meant to be anonymous: they do not include the contents of the files or text you share, and we do not use them to identify you. See Bugsnag's privacy practices at bugsnag.com/legal/privacy-policy.

Children

Klardrop is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes to this policy

If we change how the app handles data, we'll update this page and revise the "last updated" date above.
